Underwriting Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Underwriting Technician to join our team at ProAssurance, a leading specialty writer of professional liability, products liability, and workers' compensation insurance. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional customer service levels for policyholders, agents/producers, and internal customers.

• Support underwriters in providing exceptional customer service levels for policyholders, agents/producers, and internal customers.
• Handle policy processing for new business, renewals, and ongoing account maintenance.
• Develop and maintain strong technical skills, including product and system knowledge.
• Collaborate with underwriters to develop, cultivate, and strengthen relationships with agency/broker partners.
• Maintain strong relationships internally to support underwriting team efforts and cross-departmental and cross-office collaboration.

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field, or a minimum of eight years' relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• Previous insurance experience is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail with accuracy and minimal errors.
• Ability to work independently in a collaborative team environment.
• Ability to prioritize effectively and manage their own workflow.
