Clinical Therapist for Adolescent Males

The Children's Home of Reading Youth & Family Services is seeking a dedicated Clinical Therapist to join our team at Mathom House & Easton Manor Programs.

Our residential treatment facilities, located in the Doylestown area of Bucks County PA, provide responsive and innovative care to adolescent males through a multi-disciplinary approach that integrates counseling, education, recreation, and life skills instruction.

As a Clinical Therapist, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of these young individuals by providing intensive therapeutic services.

  • Clinical Supervision: You will clinically supervise residents while adhering to program policies and ensuring compliance with BARJ principles and best practices within the field.
  • Therapeutic Groups: You will run or co-facilitate therapeutic groups, fostering a supportive environment for healing and growth.
  • Individual Therapy: You will conduct weekly (at least) individual sessions with clients (an approximate caseload of 6), providing tailored support and guidance.
  • Documentation & Assessments: You will complete comprehensive client charts, including treatment plans and clinical notes utilizing an electronic health record system. Additionally, you will prepare court reports, conduct quarterly risk assessments (J-SOAP-II and ERASOR), assessments of global functioning (CANS and WHODAS), and PREA assessments (Vulnerability Assessment).
  • Case Coordination & Communication: You will maintain regular contact with juvenile probation officers and/or caseworkers for seamless case coordination.
  • Court Appearances: You will attend court hearings as needed, providing expert testimony regarding the adjustment, progress, and treatment focus of clients.
  • On-Call Responsibilities: You will be on call after hours for a week at a time several times a year, demonstrating your commitment to client well-being.
