About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Orientation Specialist to join our team at Lighthouse Central Florida. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing Orientation and Mobility services to clients with varying levels of vision loss.

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess clients' needs and develop personalized service plans.
  • Provide one-on-one instruction in community-based, center-based, and virtual settings to enhance clients' independence and confidence.
  • Collaborate with case managers, counselors, and other staff to ensure seamless service delivery and meet contractual obligations.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Visual Disabilities or Special Education.
  • Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation & Education Professionals (ACVREP) certification as a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS).
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse personalities and leadership styles.
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of orientation and mobility principles and techniques.
Benefits and Compensation

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
