This essential position involves working closely with Dartmouth Health Children's, a prestigious children's hospital, to deliver outstanding care to young patients. While pediatric cases represent approximately 10% of the workload, the primary focus will be on adult anesthesia, providing an excellent opportunity for seasoned professionals eager to maintain a broad skill set.

As the only academic medical center in the state, Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center is home to the sole Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center in New Hampshire. The Dartmouth Hitchcock Advanced Response Team (DHART) operates from multiple locations, offering critical medical transportation services throughout northern New England. The institution has been recognized as the leading hospital in New Hampshire.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a case volume exceeding 40,000 annually at the main campus and outpatient surgical center
  • Handle a variety of complex cases, including Cardiothoracic Surgery, Trauma, Orthopedics, and Neurosurgery
  • Oversee Pediatric surgical cases such as Neonatal, General, Craniofacial, and rapid Outpatient Surgery
  • Supervise a 30-bed Level III neonatal ICU and a multidisciplinary Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
  • Lead the Pediatric NORA suite for minor surgical procedures and operative dentistry
  • Collaborate within an Anesthesia Care Team model, providing medical oversight to CRNAs, engaging in resident education, and delivering individualized patient care
