Job SummaryAs a Respiratory Therapist, you will apply scientific knowledge and therapy to practical clinical problems of respiratory care. You will work as a team member in the delivery of respiratory services, and under medical direction, perform a wide range of procedures related to the care of patients with general and specialized respiratory-related needs of various age groups.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate patients to determine respiratory care needs and make appropriate recommendations and changes in accordance with policy and protocol guidelines.
- Perform advanced evaluation, management, and therapeutic procedures for patients requiring respiratory assistance.
- Accurately document patient information and maintain competency in areas of accountability.
- Facilitate a smooth transition for patients to appropriate referral services or home and provide education to patients and families as it relates to respiratory issues.
- Instruct and train other respiratory care staff, nursing, and other medical personnel and students regarding patient needs and respiratory care services.
- Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent.
- Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
- 2 years of relevant experience in pulmonary rehabilitation, respiratory care, sleep medicine, or equivalent clinical education.
- LIC-Respiratory Therapist - STATE_MI State of Michigan.
- CRT-Respiratory Therapist Registry - NBRC National Board for Respiratory Care.
- CRT-Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA American Heart Association.
- CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association.
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association.
