Position Overview
This role operates within a collaborative framework, engaging with residents, fellows, attending physicians, and nursing staff dedicated to the care of patients in the hospital setting. Under the guidance of the Medical Director or designated physician, this position collaborates with Patient Care Coordinators, nursing staff, and discharge planners to ensure comprehensive medical and nursing care. Responsibilities include managing primary and urgent medical needs, emergency stabilization of critically ill patients, and providing education to residents, medical students, and staff.

Educational Requirements
- Mandatory - Master's degree in Nursing
Experience Requirements
- Mandatory - None
- Preferred - 3 years of relevant experience
Licensure and Certifications
- Mandatory - Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in the state of practice
- Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner by ANCC or AANPCP
- Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner by ANCC or AANPCP
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Heart Association
- Eligibility for Prescriptive Authority as per state regulations
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficient computer skills for data entry and information retrieval.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
- Proficiency in Windows-based applications and relevant software.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of Advanced Practice Provider policies and protocols.
- Reliable transportation for travel between facilities.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Employs approved medical practices in delivering patient care.
- Provides care tailored to the physical, psycho-social, educational, and safety needs of patients across all age groups.
- Maintains a proactive approach to medical practices and patient outcomes, potentially developing research methodologies.
- Facilitates educational experiences for patients, families, staff, and the community.
- Adapts communication and care strategies to respect the unique needs of diverse patient populations.
- Performs additional related duties as necessary.

Physical and Environmental Considerations
The physical demands of this position require the ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently. The role may involve standing for extended periods, bending, reaching, and manual dexterity. Exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissues is routine, and there is a potential risk of exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials.
