Position Overview

This role operates within a collaborative framework, engaging with residents, fellows, attending physicians, and nursing staff dedicated to the care of patients in the hospital setting. Under the guidance of the Medical Director or designated physician, this position collaborates with Patient Care Coordinators, nursing staff, and discharge planners to ensure comprehensive medical and nursing care. Responsibilities include managing primary and urgent medical needs, emergency stabilization of critically ill patients, and providing education to residents, medical students, and staff.

Educational Requirements

  • Mandatory - Master's degree in Nursing

Experience Requirements

  • Mandatory - None

Licensure and Certifications

  • Mandatory - Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in the state of practice
  • Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner by ANCC or AANPCP
  • Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner by ANCC or AANPCP
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Heart Association
  • Eligibility for Prescriptive Authority as per state regulations

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficient computer skills for data entry and information retrieval.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Proficiency in Windows-based applications and relevant software.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of Advanced Practice Provider policies and protocols.
  • Reliable transportation for travel between facilities.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Physical and Environmental Considerations
