Job Summary

DMA Claims, a leading provider of third-party claims administration services, is seeking an experienced Litigation Claims Specialist to join our team. With over 40 years of service to the insurance industry, we offer a range of services including automobile material damage and catastrophe response across the United States.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of personal lines automobile claims in litigation, with a focus on claims involving bodily injury and property damage.
  • Develop cost-effective litigation strategies and action plans to resolve claims efficiently.
  • Evaluate lawsuit responses, negotiate settlements, and assign defense counsel as needed.
  • Prepare and present large loss reports to clients, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with defense counsel on litigation plans and budgets, ensuring alignment with client objectives.
  • Obtain client approval for litigation plans and budgets, and ensure defense counsel adheres to these plans.
  • Attend mediations and trials as necessary, representing the company's interests and advocating for fair outcomes.
  • Write denial and reservation of rights letters, clearly communicating the company's position and rationale.

Requirements

  • Active Texas Adjuster's License
  • Minimum 3 years of experience handling personal lines automobile litigation claims
  • Proficiency in tort and contract law, with a strong understanding of relevant statutes and regulations.
  • Strong coverage analysis skills, with the ability to evaluate complex claims and identify potential issues.
  • Knowledge of human anatomy and injury-treatment relationships, enabling effective analysis of medical reports and expert testimony.
  • Self-disciplined with the ability to work independently, managing multiple claims and priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with defense counsel, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in analyzing medical reports and math skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and identify trends.
  • Objectivity in conflict resolution, with the ability to remain impartial and make fair decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational abilities, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize work effectively, ensuring timely resolution of claims and high-quality outcomes.
