Neurodiagnostic Technologist Level 1

We are seeking a highly skilled Neurodiagnostic Technologist Level 1 to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a key member of our neurodiagnostic team, you will be responsible for performing standard and complex neurodiagnostic procedures for patients with moderate supervision. Your expertise will be essential in providing technical assistance and training to students, completing necessary documentation, and supporting all functions, goals, and objectives of the department.
Responsibilities- Electrode Placement: Utilize the International 10-20 Electrode Placement system to measure, mark, and apply electrodes to predetermined positions on the patient's scalp, achieving impedance levels below 10k ohms.
- Routine EEGs: Perform standard EEG recordings according to departmental protocols, adapting methods and instrumentation to obtain optimal results based on patient history, clinical observations, and EEG findings.
- Video EEGs: Conduct standard Video EEG Long Term Monitoring recordings, maintaining and replacing electrodes as needed to ensure the integrity of EEG recordings.
- Evoked Potentials: Perform standard Visual Evoked Potentials, Brainstem Auditory Evoked Potentials, and Somatosensory Evoked Potentials according to ACNS guidelines, ensuring technical quality of recordings.
- Support During Seizures: Provide supportive patient care and detailed observations of clinical manifestations during seizures and other patient emergency situations.
- Customer/Peer Relations: Work in a professional and collaborative manner with team members and physicians, displaying a commitment to teamwork and building strong relationships with patients, families, and team members.
- Departmental Protocols: Follow all department protocols and comply with departmental policies described in the Departmental Policy and Procedure Manual.
- Neurodiagnostic Equipment: Maintain all neurodiagnostic equipment in good working order, inspecting for malfunctions and making minor adjustments.
- Continuing Education: Enhance professional growth and development through annual participation in educational programs, in-services, workshops, and online CME.
- Safety and Infection Control: Practice universal precautions and follow all safety and infection control policies, maintaining a safe, clean, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients, families, visitors, and team members.
- High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), or GED equivalent programs.
- Demonstrates the ability to follow verbal instructions and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Working knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft or Google productivity suite.
- AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
- Certificate in Neurodiagnostic Technology.
- Eligible for ABRET registration.
