Job Summary

The Night Auditor is a critical role at Wingate Galveston East Beach, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of hotel financial transactions. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reconcile all hotel cashier transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Review and compile management reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of management to address concerns and resolve issues.
  • Perform guest service agent duties as required, including check-in, check-out, and switchboard operation.
  • Audit and reconcile financial and statistical reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare and distribute daily reports as required, including the Daily Operating Report and Discount Programs.
  • Assist with month-end reporting and reconciliation.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all numbers reported, including statistics.
  • Input and update financial information into the corporate communications network.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly data processing system functions as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or one year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field.
  • Guest Service Experience preferred.
  • Computer knowledge/skills required.
  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
  • Sedentary work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Late/Overnight shift.
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
  • Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas, and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Ability to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
  • Ability to cross-train in other hotel-related areas.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Ability to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
