Job Summary

Thom Child and Family Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team. As an Early Intervention Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing home and community-based services to infants and toddlers with developmental delays and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Intervention: Participate in multidisciplinary team assessments of the client's developmental status and provide direct services and activities developmentally appropriate for children 0-3 and their families.
  • Individualized Service Planning: Develop and implement Individual Family Service Plans (IFSPs) with responsibility for identifying goals, objectives, and strategies related to the child's development.
  • Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Complete progress notes, reports, assessments, and correspondence as appropriate to ensure the child's progress is tracked and reported to families and other stakeholders.
  • Family Support and Education: Provide individual and group intervention for infants and toddlers from birth to three years old who have developmental delays or who are at risk for delays in the areas of cognitive, adaptive behavior, social-emotional, self-care, fine motor, gross motor, and communication development.
  • Service Coordination: Act as a service coordinator for the family by scheduling, developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the intervention plan for each family on caseload, ensuring that appropriate procedures and timelines are followed.
Requirements
  • Licensure and Certification: Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist by the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Allied Health Professions.
  • Experience and Knowledge: Experience with infants, toddlers, and families is preferred. Knowledge of family systems and early childhood development is essential.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to engage in meaningful, therapeutic relationships with children, parents/caregivers, and community partners. Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills are required.
  • Confidentiality and Professional Boundaries: Abide by all confidentiality and professional boundaries standards.
  • Computer Skills and Documentation: Good computer skills as well as strong documentation skills are necessary.
  • Transportation: Current driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
