Position Overview
About St. HOPE Public Schools
St. HOPE Public Schools has been dedicated to the mission of cultivating self-driven, industrious, and analytical leaders since its inception in 2003. Our goal is to empower individuals who are committed to serving their communities, enthusiastic about lifelong learning, and prepared to pursue higher education. Our organization encompasses three charter schools: PS7 Elementary School, PS7 Middle School, and Sacramento Charter High School, all situated in the Oak Park area of Sacramento.
Our commitment to excellence has led to remarkable achievements in closing the educational achievement gap and enabling our students to realize their full potential. Despite serving a predominantly minority and low-income student body, our academic performance consistently surpasses district averages. Notable accomplishments include:
- Sacramento Charter High School has been recognized as the top-performing high school for black students in California by the California Charter Schools Association (CCSA).
- PS7 and Sacramento Charter High School were honored as California Education Champions by the National Action Network for ranking in the top 25% of all schools in California.
- PS7 has received the Title 1 Achievement Award and has been recognized as a California Distinguished School and a federal Blue Ribbon School nominee.
- In a recent year, 93% of Sac High scholars were accepted into four-year colleges, with 100% meeting UC/CSU requirements, far exceeding district and state averages.
At St. HOPE Public Schools, we firmly believe in the transformative power of effective teaching. We understand that sustained excellence in teaching can bridge the achievement gap for low-income students. Our approach emphasizes collaboration, ensuring that our educators work cohesively across grades and subjects to foster student success. We invest time in developing curricula that facilitate smooth transitions and maintain consistent expectations across all campuses.
- At PS7 Middle School, our data illustrates the impact of quality teaching. Students entering the 6th grade with only 9% on or above grade level in math, after three years, promote from 8th grade with 48% meeting or exceeding grade level expectations.
We also prioritize a positive school culture, organizing various engaging events for students and families throughout the academic year. Our commitment to providing a well-rounded educational experience includes offering a diverse range of elective courses. We value our educators and provide comprehensive coaching and support to help them excel in their roles.
St. HOPE is not only focused on education but also on community revitalization. One of our significant projects is the 40 Acres Art and Culture Center, which has played a vital role in the Oak Park community.
