Overview:

We are seeking a skilled engineering leader to provide technical oversight and strategic direction to our Advanced Manufacturing team. This role involves cultivating a high-performing group of engineers specializing in industrial, tooling, mechanical design, and control systems, with a focus on innovative solutions to enhance production efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the project initiatives of Advanced Manufacturing Engineers and Technicians.
  • Supervise the design and development of manual, semi-automated, and automated machinery and tooling.
  • Guide the team in assessing current processes and optimizing systems to lower costs, enhance sustainability, and establish best practices.
  • Provide critical insights during the new business opportunity process to a cross-functional tool room team regarding machine design and tooling aspects.
  • Facilitate the integration of new technologies, machinery, and tooling modifications to ensure seamless production continuity.
  • Evaluate and analyze proposals for new equipment or process enhancements, determining the justification for expenditures.
  • Prepare and submit viable proposals to management for funding consideration.
  • Plan, oversee, and coordinate activities related to the design, maintenance, repair, and modification of machinery, tools, fixtures, molds, and dies.
  • Develop and implement monitoring methods and procedures for project tracking, including expenditure records, progress reports, and staff meetings to keep management informed.
  • Monitor team performance metrics and align progress with business objectives, recommending adjustments as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience (10+ years in a related field).
  • Over 10 years of experience in the manufacturing sector, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or project management role leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industrial machine and process design (mechanical, electrical, controls).
  • Proficient in Solidworks/Creo and/or PLC/PC-based control systems.
  • Experience managing large capital projects (over $1 million); PMP certification is preferred.
  • Commitment to developing team members' skills in alignment with individual career aspirations and team goals.
  • Ability to apply best practices and tools to drive business outcomes effectively.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly.
