Job Title: CDL Truck Driver - Terminal Operations

Logistec is seeking a skilled CDL truck driver to join our team in a terminal operations role. As a CDL truck driver, you will be responsible for operating terminal yard trucks and assisting with the loading and discharging of cargo within the facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform pre-shift mechanical inspection of assigned company truck (yard mule) and immediately report any deficiencies.
  • Operate yard truck and ensure cargo is properly secure for transport throughout the terminal.
  • Couple and uncouple trailers by changing trailer jack positions, connecting or disconnecting air and electrical lines.
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
  • Maintain logs of loads and submit accurate daily shift activity.
  • Maintain a clean work area, free of debris or safety hazards and awareness of surroundings at all times.
  • Perform other duties such as general labor, as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Must have three (3) years driving a mule jockey or tractor trailer driving experience.
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Must be able to accurately process alpha/numeric information.
  • Must have the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Must have the ability to work independently with limited supervision and strong initiative.
  • Must have the ability to think logically, follow procedures, instructions, and make sound decisions.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, bend, squat, twist, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • The employee must occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • The employee is frequently required to talk and communicate with coworkers and supervisors.
  • The employee is continuously required to sit (while driving), grasp, and exercise eye-hand coordination and eye-hand-foot coordination and finger dexterity.
