Job Overview

As a Utilities (Civil) Engineer with the City of St. Peters, you will play a critical role in planning, managing, and improving the city's essential infrastructure. This position offers a wide range of responsibilities, including:

  • Developing and implementing infrastructure plans for water, wastewater, and stormwater systems
  • Preparing and managing procurement, construction, and professional services contracts
  • Providing construction management on city water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects
  • Collaborating with field staff to address infrastructure issues and support residents with stormwater, wastewater, and water-related concerns
  • Providing technical support for infrastructure programs
  • Negotiating right-of-way acquisitions, service extension agreements, and other contracts
  • Representing the City in meetings with federal, state, and local agencies

Requirements for this position include:

  • U.S. citizenship or lawfully authorized alien worker status
  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering or related field, with Engineer in Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) Certification and five (5) years of responsible engineering experience
  • Motor Vehicle Operator's license valid in the state of Missouri
  • Ability to lift and handle a minimum of 75 lbs
  • Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database computer application programs
  • Ability to develop, interpret, and communicate information from blueprints, plans, and legal descriptions
