Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paramedic ALS1 to join our transport team at Children's National Hospital. As a member of our team, you will provide safe, efficient, and effective inter-facility transport to a wide variety of ill and injured patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced life support care necessary to stabilize and transport patients
  • Ensure a quick response to all transport requests
  • Perform patient assessment and prioritize care based on assessment
  • Continuously re-assess patient and perform advanced role skills according to standard protocols or on-line physician direction
  • Document patient care as specified by department and hospital guidelines
  • Promote family centered care in the transport environment
Requirements
  • Nationally Registered Paramedic (NRP) certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS) certification
  • ACLS certification
  • Paramedic Certifications from the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of ALS experience in a pre-hospital (911) or inter-facility transport program
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrates clinical expertise, problem solving and independent decision making skills
