Position: Research Scientist - ELISA Specialist
Location: DeSoto
Contract Duration: 23 months
Compensation: $30.40/hr
Work Schedule:
This is an onsite position requiring 40 hours per week with flexible hours available, including options from 8am to 5pm, 9am to 6pm, and other variations.
Role Overview:
The selected candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the reference management program for biological sites within the organization. This position involves ensuring compliance with USDA standards and conducting in vitro potency assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing reference standards and compliance with USDA regulations.
- Conduct stability testing for reference standards related to pre- and post-licensure products.
- Prepare and evaluate small-scale vaccine formulations to aid in the development of new reference standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Quality Control, and Regulatory Affairs, to support the qualification of new reference standards.
- Contribute to the preparation of protocols and reports for USDA submissions.
- Participate in critical reagent qualification studies and provide technical support for Quality Control assays.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a BS/MS degree in Bacteriology, Biology, Microbiology, or Virology, with hands-on experience in ELISA within an industry laboratory setting.
Essential Skills:
- Laboratory experience in a professional environment.
- Proficiency in conducting scientific experiments, particularly in vitro tests, with a focus on ELISA.
- Experience in analytical testing within R&D and quality control settings.
- Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills:
- Ability to independently design and execute scientific experiments.
- Experience in R&D or Quality Control laboratories.
- Familiarity with USDA regulations governing biological products.
