Database Engineer Job Description

PingWind Inc is seeking a highly skilled Database Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our organization's database systems. As a Database Engineer, you will optimize and enhance database performance, ensuring data integrity and availability.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop database architecture, tables, relationships, and data models based on application requirements and business needs.
  • Work with the Government and data end users to identify, create, and populate optimal data architectures, structures, and systems.
  • Plan, design, and optimize data throughput and query performance.
  • Develop, maintain, and test infrastructures for data generation, enabling transformation of data into formats which facilitate analysis.
  • Implement and maintain database security measures, including access controls, encryption, and auditing, to protect sensitive data.
  • Manage database schema changes, versioning, and migrations in collaboration with development and operations teams.
  • Proficiency in working with various relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
  • Advanced skills in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries and database code.
  • Experience with ETL tools and processes for data integration.
Requirements
  • Five+ (5+) years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelors' degree in a relevant field.
  • Security+ certification.
  • Experience in database design and overseeing work of developers.
  • Conduct quality control of software development.
  • Conduct proactive risk identification and mitigation of software development process.
  • Perform routine database maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and monitoring to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Implement and enforce data quality standards and processes to ensure accurate and reliable data within the database.
Preferred Qualifications
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.
  • CEH certification.
  • Oracle Certified Professional.
  • Java SE Developer certification.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate.
