Our team is passionate about what we do, and we strive to be the best in our business. We're seeking a skilled Automotive/Engine Machinist to join our team at our 24,000 sq. ft. machine shop in Nevada, Iowa.
The successful candidate will work with traditional and computer-guided equipment to create custom solutions for our customers. Our machine shop serves a variety of industries, including agriculture, high-performance, diesel, vintage/restoration, and other specialties.
Key Responsibilities- Understand customer needs and develop engine machining solutions to meet those needs
- Operate and maintain machine shop equipment safely and efficiently
- Work effectively in a team atmosphere
- Manage a range of jobs and projects from various industries, including agriculture, high-performance, diesel, and vintage/restoration
- Create accurate estimates and manage resources to ensure timely completion and adherence to specifications
- Maintain strong communication with operations management throughout a project
- Perform machine shop tasks such as engine rebuilds, machining, reconditioning of blocks, heads, crankshafts, flywheels, and other parts
- Manual dexterity skills for machining and assembly operations
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Mechanical aptitude
- Lifting of a minimum of 70 pounds on a regular basis
- Standing, lifting, twisting, bending, walking, and sitting
- Some computer knowledge and proficiency
