As a Billing and Collections Specialist, your primary responsibility will involve communicating with insurance providers to resolve denied claims. You will also gain skills in drafting appeals to insurance companies to challenge denied or underpaid claims. You will work with a variety of national payers across multiple states and systems, collaborating with team members. The best part is that we will provide comprehensive training.
On a typical day, your responsibilities will include:
- Contacting payers to ascertain the reasons for denied or incorrectly paid insurance claims.
- Utilizing various practice management systems and other workflow technologies.
- Responding to client inquiries promptly regarding unpaid insurance claims.
- Checking payer portals for updates on insurance claim statuses.
- Participating in team and client meetings.
- Collaborating with leadership to enhance client collections, including securing payment for additional insurance claims.
- Learning to prioritize your workload for optimal efficiency.
- Building relationships, having fun, and contributing to a positive team atmosphere.
