Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team in our outpatient medical oncology/hematology private practice. As a LPN, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care, supporting the medical team, and ensuring a positive experience for our patients undergoing cancer treatment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and monitor therapy of patients using appropriate technical skills under the direction and supervision of a physician.
  • Exhibit passion for and experience in Oncology patient care.
  • Manage patients with oncologic and hematologic diagnoses.
  • Perform basic lab tests such as phlebotomy, collection of other lab specimens, and EKGs.
  • Prepare and administer injections and document medication under a physician's order.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and families throughout treatment.
  • Triage patient/family phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient's chart.
  • Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
  • Current New York State LPN license.
  • 2+ years of clinical experience in an outpatient oncology setting preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills, including IV insertion and medication administration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
