About the Role

Corteva Agriscience is seeking a highly skilled Production Planning Manager to join our team in Plymouth, IN. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for planning and managing production resources to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality corn seed to meet business and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement production plans to ensure efficient use of resources, including manpower, equipment, tools, facilities, and raw materials.
  • Manage plant operations to ensure safe and effective production processes, including harvest receiving, husk/sort management, dryer management, bulk management, conditioning, treating, packaging, maintenance, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Lead a team of employees to achieve business results, including ensuring employee engagement with safety and site compliance with all safety programs.
  • Coach and develop employees to foster effective collaboration and teamwork, and demonstrate and model Corteva Values.
  • Establish and support individual and team performance goals that are attainable and aligned with business strategy.
  • Actively encourage and support employees' career development, and coach staff in stretch assignments and skill development critical to employees' jobs and overall career objectives.
  • Manage quality operations systems and processes to ensure product first-pass-quality and launch root-cause-failure-analysis with countermeasures in cases when first-pass-quality is not achieved.
  • Utilize LEAN Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools to drive continuous improvement projects and foster a focused-improvement culture in all employees and operations.
  • Communicate effectively and hold regular team meetings to provide timely business updates.
  • Plan, organize, and direct plant operations to ensure the most effective return on assets.
  • Review and approve plans for the control of production output, budget spending, material efficiency, and engineering/maintenance effectiveness.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • 2-3+ years of experience in leadership or supervisory roles, with a strong understanding of operational effectiveness.
  • Proven performance development and coaching/feedback skills to lead all employees to bring their best selves into work each day.
  • Passionate about forming a high-performing team and have extensive team building experience.
  • Results-orientated and have strong priority management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communications and influencing skills.
  • Committed to safety and quality.
  • Change management and innovation experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5-7+ years of experience in leadership or supervisory roles.
  • Process Safety Management (PSM) experience.
  • Experience leading safety programs and initiatives.
  • SAP and WMS systems experience.
  • LEAN Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience and certifications.
  • Experience Quality Management Systems and leading quality initiatives.
