Job Summary

The Nurse-Resident role is a dynamic position that requires a strong foundation in nursing practice and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care. As a Nurse-Resident, you will have the opportunity to develop your clinical skills and knowledge in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend all quality and core curriculum classes to enhance your nursing knowledge and skills.
  • Participate in professional development workshops and peer support groups to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Successfully complete all clinical competencies and validation requirements of the Nurse Residency Program to ensure you are equipped to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Work under the direct and indirect supervision of the Clinical Education Team to refine your nursing knowledge and skills.
  • Actively participate in managing clinical situations for which you are assigned, under the direct supervision of a licensed Registered Nurse.
Accountabilities
  • Assessment: Collect patient data and complete required forms with appropriate responses according to unit standards.
  • Planning Care: Develop a plan of care based on nursing process and incorporate the plans of other disciplines and continuing care needs.
  • Implementing/Managing Care: Provide care that conforms to accepted practice standards and demonstrates understanding of age-related characteristics and needs of patients served.
  • Evaluation: Record patient care delivered as planned and any variation, with appropriate rationale.
  • Leadership: Delegate nursing care to appropriate personnel and integrate cost-effective measures into nursing practice.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing program approved by the South Carolina State Board of Nursing required.
  • Licensed to practice as a RN in South Carolina.
  • BLS required.
Working Conditions

This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

Variable work shift and location at Marshall I. Pickens Hospital.
