Job Summary

The Hunton Group is seeking a skilled HVAC Airside Technician to join our team. As an Airside Technician, you will be responsible for the cleaning and servicing of Air Handling Units. This role requires experience with light commercial HVAC systems and/or cleaning air duct systems, as well as experience in AHU refurbishing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain all duct-cleaning equipment.
  • Access, remove and clean air distribution components and equipment.
  • Sell ancillary products and services in conjunction with performance of duct cleaning service.
  • Prepare all job-related paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Maintain an organized and well-stocked company vehicle.
  • Complete AHU Refurbishing, which includes cleaning and sanitizing AHU, filtration upgrades, coating of inside of AHU, and replacement of coils, motors, and bearings if needed.
  • Maintain rapport with customers by examining complaints, identifying solutions, suggesting improved methods and techniques, and recommending system improvements.
  • Keep personal equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
  • Document service and cleaning actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
Requirements
  • Technical/Trade School with a certificate in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning related experience, or seven (2) years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a good driving record.
  • Must be reliable and have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Must be willing to submit to pre-employment screening, including criminal background check and drug screen.
  • Basic understanding of duct mechanics and how it affects Indoor Air Quality, mechanical experience is a plus.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

This position requires working outdoors, in mechanical/equipment rooms, and possible extreme weather conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and heavy equipment. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock (high voltage), and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
