**United Farm Workers of America is hiring an External Union Growth Specialist.**

Job Description:

The United Farm Workers of America seeks a highly skilled External Union Growth Specialist to join our team. This role plays a crucial part in planning, directing, and coordinating UFW membership growth. The successful candidate will assist in managing and directing worker activities during the collective bargaining process.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with the Organizer Coordinator & Regional Manager to develop operational plans that align with the organization's needs, as well as political and union organizing objectives.
  • Participates in Management Oversight Review meetings to learn and contribute.
  • Ensures the maintenance of a comprehensive database in assigned companies.
  • Assists in establishing and maintaining a functional and complete worker structure.
  • Directs and participates in the development and training of volunteers.
  • Implements programs aimed at attracting worker participation.
  • Trains worker leadership to effectively conduct their meetings.
  • Identifies and leverages workers' issues, utilizing state and federal agencies when necessary.
  • Assists in building majority support in assigned companies.
  • Learns to conduct NLRB/ALRB elections and card check recognition.
  • Learns to conduct third-party recognition elections.

Requirements:

  • Ability to learn how to use the Management Oversight Review planning process and use effective training methods for both members and workers.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with the history and mission of the United Farm Workers of America.
  • Willingness to make a long-term commitment.

Salary:

Estimated salary $55,000 - $65,000 per year.
