Position Overview:
The Stowe Rocks Climbing Center is seeking Climbing Center Attendants. These attendants are responsible for providing orientations and coaching to clients, utilizing their technical expertise in climbing and other recreational activities offered at the center. They will inspect climbing gear, oversee the climbing area, and serve as a resource for clients. Attendants must communicate effectively, provide hands-on assistance, and routinely monitor the climbing environment.
Position Specifications
- Expected Pay Range: $22.71
- Shift & Schedule Availability: Part-Time
- Skill Level: Entry Level
Key Responsibilities
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Assist guests with activities, which may involve physical tasks such as lifting (up to 50 lbs.), bending, and squatting.
- Deliver exceptional guest service.
- Ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a strong guest-service orientation.
- Ability to work at heights.
- Willingness to learn and demonstrate technical rope skills and the use of climbing equipment.
- Attention to detail for inspecting and monitoring equipment and operations.
- Effective communication skills with both coworkers and guests.
Requirements
- Fluency in English is required.
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Basic knowledge and skills with hand tools.
- Ability to work extended hours outdoors in an alpine setting.
A Mountain Activities Attendant is a versatile employee who may work across various departments to support the resort's overall operations, which could include:
- Mountain Activities
- Retail Rental Operations
- Food and Beverage Support
- Ticket Sales or Scanning
- Lift Operations
- Base Area Operations
Additional Requirements for Employees Under 18:
- Submission of a Parental Consent Form upon hire, along with any other required documents as per state law.
The expected pay range is $22.71. This reflects the compensation we anticipate for this role, with individual decisions based on various factors.
