Universal Health Services is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on a PRN basis. As a PRN Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing quality nursing care to patients in our acute care and residential facility.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing medical procedures, and developing and implementing individualized care plans.
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff, ensuring that they are providing high-quality care and adhering to established standards and policies.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive comprehensive and coordinated care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- CPR certification (offered on-site)
- Handle With Care certification (offered on-site)
- Education/Experience:
- Education, experience, and/or training in working with patient populations of unit assignment is required either prior to employment or during an initial employment period
- General Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age per Commonwealth of Virginia Interdepartmental Regulation of Children's Residential Facilities (22VAC, pg. 43)
- Must have patience, tact, and a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm
- Good communication skills; must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Basic clerical skills, basic experience with office equipment (telephone, copy machine, fax, etc.)
- Experience with Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
- Ability to problem solve and accept feedback when circumstances warrant such actions
- Willingness to interact with patients with varying levels of cognitive functioning
