Construction Project Estimator

About the Role:
Singletone Construction is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead project bids and prepare detailed cost estimates for various commercial construction projects. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of project budgeting and cost management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor work.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and site conditions to develop comprehensive and accurate project estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure alignment with project goals and budget requirements.
- Research and source materials and subcontractors to ensure optimal project cost-efficiency and quality.
- Review historical data to enhance estimating accuracy and refine cost models.
- Present estimates and budgets to internal teams and clients, explaining variances and options as needed.
- Identify and mitigate project risks through proactive planning and by maintaining a thorough understanding of market conditions.
- Utilize construction software (such as Procore) for efficient estimation and project tracking.
- Stay updated on industry trends, cost fluctuations, and best practices to maintain competitive and accurate pricing strategies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field; OR equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating.
- Proven experience with commercial construction projects and a strong understanding of project budgeting and cost management.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Procore) and Microsoft Office, and SmartSheet.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound judgments under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders at all levels.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
