Hydrovac Operator

We are seeking a skilled Underground Utility Locator and Hydrovac Truck Operator to join our growing team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating hydrovac trucks to excavate and expose underground utilities using pressurized water and vacuum systems.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $90,000 per annum based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate hydrovac trucks to expose underground utilities in a safe and controlled manner.
• Use high-pressure water systems and vacuum suction equipment to perform potholing.
• Assist with identifying and marking underground utility lines (gas, water, electric, telecom, etc.).
• Conduct pre-operational and post-operational checks on equipment, ensuring proper maintenance.
• Transport materials and equipment to job sites as required.
• Collaborate with crews to ensure accurate, efficient, and safe excavation work.
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to minimize risks.
• Record daily activities, including job site details, work completed, and equipment logs.
• Communicate clearly with supervisors, project managers, and team members.

• Required: Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with air brake endorsement.
• Previous experience operating a hydrovac truck or similar excavation equipment.
• Ability to safely operate heavy equipment in various weather and site conditions.
• Knowledge of underground utility identification and safety best practices.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
