Job Description

Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium is seeking a highly motivated Aquarist to join our team

The successful candidate will provide top-notch animal care and maintenance for various aquatic animals, including fish, invertebrates, and plants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular scuba diving and maintenance tasks to ensure the health and well-being of aquatic animals.
  • Prepare and feed animal diets, clean environments, and handle animal transfers with care.
  • Maintain exhibit aesthetics and perform routine cleaning and maintenance of work areas.
  • Ensure proper functioning of life support systems, water quality testing, and record data.
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and technicians on animal procedures and research projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in marine science, biology, chemistry, or related field.
  • 2 years of professional experience working in a public aquarium.
  • Valid PA driver's license and willingness to work flexible hours.

We offer a competitive salary of $55,000 - $65,000 per year, based on experience, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.
