Position Overview
We are seeking a Junior Research Chemist to contribute to our operations in Waterville, OH. In this capacity, you will engage in the development and enhancement of new JM nonwoven products. Collaborating closely with our Innovation & Commercial team, you will conduct experiments, assist in trials, and contribute to the synthesis and characterization of innovative products. Your contributions will be pivotal in supporting manufacturing specifications and fostering product innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute laboratory experiments and perform data analysis in accordance with established principles
- Innovate new testing methodologies and improve existing procedures
- Engage in technical projects as part of cross-functional teams
- Travel to production facilities for product and process development initiatives
- Deliver research updates to both internal and external stakeholders
- Provide technical assistance for product-related issues and inquiries
- Employ statistical tools for experimental design and data interpretation
- Utilize material characterization techniques for effective data collection and analysis
- Oversee the maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related discipline
- At least one year of experience in research and development
- Familiarity with laboratory practices, chemical analysis, and synthesis methodologies
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and project management
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively
- Robust problem-solving skills
- Experience in collaborating directly with production operations
