Faculty Cardiac Sonographer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Faculty Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. As a Faculty Cardiac Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing and analyzing cardiac ultrasound testing, including M-mode, two-dimensional, pulsed and continuous wave, color flow Doppler, transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), and stress echocardiograms.
Responsibilities:
- Provide patient comfort and arrange equipment for procedures.
- Prepare equipment and supplies according to established departmental procedures.
- Interact with patients by identifying self and verifying patient identity.
- Explain procedures and equipment to patients clearly.
- Maintain equipment for proper function and safety.
- Document echocardiograms according to departmental procedures.
- Enter, maintain, and record all pertinent data.
- Inform physicians of any changes in patient condition or vital signs.
Requirements:
To qualify, you must have an Associate's Degree in a related field and completion of an accredited program in Ultrasound or equivalent combination of education and experience. Registered or registry eligible by the American Registry to Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation required. Must maintain active registry status.
Preferred Qualifications:
Registered by the American Registry to Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
