Overview

Covenant Health is a leading medical practice organization in East Tennessee, offering top-notch care in various specialties. We are seeking an experienced Endoscopy Technician to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper reprocessing of flexible endoscopes for GI and Pulmonary procedures. This includes pre-cleaning, leak testing, manual cleaning, high-level disinfection, and storing equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for following the manufacturer's instructions for use (IFU) to ensure effective reprocessing of flexible endoscopes.
  • Pre-clean flexible endoscopes and reusable accessories by following the device manufacturers IFU.
  • Perform the leak test using manufacturers IFU after each use and prior to manual cleaning.
  • Meticulously clean channels and ports consistent with the manufacturers IFU before performing high-level disinfection or sterilization.
  • Visually inspect the endoscope and its accessories.
  • Perform HLD in accordance with the manufacturers IFU.
  • Store endoscopes and accessories in a manner that prevents recontamination and promotes drying.
  • Maintain documentation of adherence to these essential steps each time an endoscope is reprocessed.
  • Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Complete required education assignments annually.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives as requested.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education: None specified; will accept any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skill, and ability needed to perform the essential tasks of the job.

Estimated Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
