Job Title: Aide II for Special Education Support

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as an Aide II for Special Education Support. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs and providing a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist teachers in instructional activities and provide support to students with special needs.
  • Share responsibility for protecting students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Perform bus monitor duties as assigned, including supervising students on and off the bus.
  • Provide services according to student need, as documented on IEPs, 504 plans, or as otherwise assigned.
  • Maintain positive work habits and participate in required staff meetings.
  • Perform duties efficiently and productively, and maintain and/or upgrade skills as needed.
  • Perform specialized health care procedures, as required.
  • Perform any and all other job-related duties as assigned by the classroom teacher, principal, or superintendent.
Requirements:
  • Holds appropriate certification in assigned field.
  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • Physically fit to perform duties, including managing challenging behaviors.
  • Pass competency test pursuant to 18A-4-8c.
  • Pass criminal background check conducted pursuant to Summers County Board of Education Policy IV-G-4.
  • Pass drug test conducted pursuant to Summers County Board of Education Policy IV-H-1.
  • Successfully complete and be certified in Phase I training in health care procedures and any Phase II procedures that are required to be performed.
