Responsibilities:


The Yard Operations Supervisor oversees the activities of all yard personnel engaged in the shipping, receiving, and management of products.

This role provides leadership and guidance in loading and unloading practices, receiving protocols, yard organization, inventory management, vehicle upkeep, and the promotion of a safe working atmosphere.

This position requires flexibility to work over 40 hours per week and weekends as necessary. The Yard Operations Supervisor reports directly to the Yard or Plant Manager.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Ensuring compliance with PPE regulations and maintaining a safe working environment

Facilitating departmental communication and meetings

Promptly reporting unsafe conditions, actions, or injuries to the Plant Manager

Conducting inventory cycle counts

Operating forklifts and yard vehicles safely and performing preventive maintenance

Adhering to the yard vehicle maintenance schedule

Coordinating DOT stock lots

Maintaining yard cleanliness, organization, and layout

Conducting quality inspections of finished goods

Managing product rotation

Confirming customer orders (ASN)

Communicating with the Freight Manager regarding relevant issues

Overseeing departmental training and certification programs

Organizing daily loading sequences

Maximizing payloads

Administering departmental personnel matters

Managing product conversions

Enhancing departmental labor efficiencies

Reducing loading errors

Overseeing CPU's and RMA's

Minimizing departmental overtime

Understanding and practicing ADS CORE VALUES

Job Skills:

This position should possess the following skills/knowledge:
Professionalism and leadership capabilities

Proficiency in operating systems related to inventory management

Time management and organizational abilities

Effective communication and training skills

Basic computer literacy

Comprehensive knowledge of all ADS products

Forklift and OTR vehicle operation skills

Educational Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Experience:
3-5 years of experience as an ADS Yard Loader

Supervisory experience

Physical Requirements:
Ability to repeatedly lift 75 pounds to a height of 6 feet

Ability to stand and remain mobile for a minimum of 8 continuous hours

Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods in varying temperatures

Ability to use hands, arms, and legs to physically handle and transport finished goods

Position requires full range of body motion including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting, and the ability to mount/dismount industrial equipment and vehicles
