Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Barista & Sandwich Artisan to join our team at The Picnic Basket, our beachfront cafe located near the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating an excellent customer experience by working the register, preparing tea and coffee drinks, and crafting breakfast items and salads and sandwiches.

Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive dining experience for all guests.
  • Prepare and serve a variety of tea and coffee drinks, as well as breakfast items and salads and sandwiches.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of our menu items and make recommendations to guests.
  • Work effectively as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Communicate and prioritize effectively to ensure seamless service.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to improve skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Experience in customer service or food production in a high-volume location is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to communicate and prioritize effectively.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Desire to learn more about locally sourced food and sustainable business practices.
  • Availability to work at least 20 hours per week on a reliable basis.
  • Availability to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
