Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Master's level Child & Teen Trauma Counselor who is licensed or eligible for licensure. This role is a vital part of our collaboration with the Madison County Child Advocacy Center (CAC).

About Alternatives Counseling, Inc.:
Since 1991, Alternatives Counseling has been committed to providing quality mental health services to individuals of all ages. Our focus is particularly on those who have endured trauma, including sexual or physical abuse, neglect, and domestic violence.

Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will primarily offer counseling services to children, adolescents, and their families involved with the Madison County CAC. Services will be delivered at the CAC, where children are typically assessed in cases of suspected abuse or violence.

Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field.
  • Licensure or eligibility for licensure in Illinois (LCPC, LCSW, LMFT).
  • Experience in working with children, teens, and families.
  • Specialized training in trauma and abuse treatment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor.
  • The ability to function both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Work Environment:
This is a full-time position that requires in-person attendance. The role includes crisis intervention and participation in multidisciplinary case staffings, in addition to providing individual and family therapy. Additional service hours may be available at our other locations.

Compensation and Benefits:
The starting salary range for this position is $45,000 to $55,000 annually, commensurate with licensure, training, and relevant experience. Benefits include:
