Job Summary

Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital is seeking a skilled Occupational Health Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our occupational health department, you will provide expert care to employees, volunteers, and contract personnel, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial management, review, and monitoring of occupational injuries and illnesses
  • Utilize data collection activities to identify areas of focus for improvement and assist in the development of policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with Infection Control, physicians, and other stakeholders in the investigation, reporting, and follow-through of employees potentially exposed to infectious or communicable diseases
  • Provide input into unit resource utilization, including capital and operational budget needs
  • Adhere to fiscal responsibility when ordering and maintaining medical and office supply inventory
  • Coordinate and participate in training on safe patient handling and mobility principles
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited school of Nursing or Associate's degree from an accredited school of Nursing with an additional two years of nursing experience
  • Three years of clinical nursing experience, with occupational health nursing experience preferred
  • RN-Temp - Registered Nurse - Temporary State Licensure within 60 days and COHN - Certified Occupational Health Nurse (ABOHN) or COHN/S - Certified Occupational Health Nurse Specialist (ABOHN)
  • Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job, determined through on-going skills, competency assessments, and performance evaluations
