Job Title: Medical Surgical Travel Nurse RN

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Surgical Travel Nurse RN to join our team at Travel Nurse Across America. As a Medical Surgical Travel Nurse, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients, and provide bedside care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Summary:

The Medical Surgical Travel Nurse RN will be responsible for conducting patient assessments, prioritizing data collection, and performing ongoing assessments and treatments as ordered by a physician. You will also be responsible for documenting patient findings, providing education and support to patients' families, and participating in discharge planning.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
  • Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
  • Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs.
  • Prepare equipment and aid physician during examination and treatment of patient.
  • Educate patients on surgical procedures.
  • Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
Requirements:
  • BLS certification
  • 1 year of experience as a Medical Surgical RN
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds and move or lift patients as needed
