We're seeking a skilled Medical Surgical RN for a travel nurse position in Rochester, NY. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of recent acute care experience and be able to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
As a Medical Surgical Travel Nurse, you will conduct patient assessments, prioritize data collection, and perform ongoing assessments and treatments as ordered by a physician. You will also document patient findings, provide education and support to patients' families, and participate in discharge planning.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
- Preparing, administering, and recording prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
- Changing dressings, inserting catheters, and starting IVs.
- Preparing equipment and aiding the physician during examination and treatment of patients.
- Educating patients on surgical procedures.
- Participating in discharge planning and initiating patient education plans as prescribed by the physician.
Requirements: BLS, PALS, 2 Years
*Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
