Venipuncture Collector - Northwestern Medicine

About the Position: We are seeking a highly skilled Venipuncture Collector to join our team at Northwestern Medicine. In this part-time role, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients, processing specimens, and maintaining accurate records. Approximately 24 hours per week, with various shifts including Monday through Thursday 4pm - 8pm and Saturday (1st and 3rd) 7:30am - 1:00pm.

Responsibilities:
  • Collect venipuncture samples from patients using established protocols.
  • Process and label specimens accurately and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure smooth specimen handling and testing.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and laboratory staff regarding specimen collection and results.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Completion of a phlebotomy training program or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum one year of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a laboratory environment.
  • Strong understanding of phlebotomy techniques, specimen handling, and laboratory procedures.

Compensation and Benefits:
  • Average salary range: $44,000 - $54,000 annually.
