Job Title: Research Nurse Case Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research Nurse Case Manager to join our team at OHSU. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for providing clinical services as part of a pragmatic effectiveness randomized clinical trial aimed at improving pain treatment outcomes for patients living in rural areas.

Job Summary:

The Research Nurse Case Manager will provide care and counseling of persons in the promotion and maintenance of health, as well as in the prevention of illness and injury based upon the nursing process. This includes systematic data gathering, assessment, appropriate nursing judgment, and evaluation of human responses to actual or potential health problems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments of patients with chronic pain using telehealth platforms, addressing concomitant issues, including mental health, substance use, medical comorbidities, and concurrent medication use.
  • Complete comprehensive medical record reviews of patients and provide clinical recommendations from the data generated and clinical assessments to create individualized plans of care.
  • Track all enrolled patients, provide follow-up services, and document services provided to patients in a designated database.
  • Facilitate a 6-session pain education and coping group.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and 3 years of clinical experience, preferably in a research setting.
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN licensure in any US state, commonwealth, territory, or the District of Columbia.
  • Working knowledge of traditional computing software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and proficiency in nursing process in order to provide care for patients with complex nursing care needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3 years of clinical experience, with some experience in a clinical research setting.
