The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide medical services to students in a self-contained setting. The LPN will work under the supervision of the District Nurse to ensure access and continuity of health care for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Administer first aid, medication, and specialized medical treatment as ordered by a physician.
- Assess situations involving students' safety, abuse, and other health-related issues.
- Collaborate with parents, students, health care providers, and other agencies to promote needed treatment and comply with legal requirements.
- Conduct primary evaluations of ill or injured students and implement specialized health care procedures.
- Maintain health care records and prepare written materials for documentation and reporting.
- Valid State of California License of Vocational Nursing.
- First Aid/CPR Certificate.
- Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance; TB clearance.
The LPN will work in a fast-paced environment with varying atmospheric conditions. The job requires significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, as well as some climbing and balancing.
