We are seeking an Immigration Attorney to join our team at Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans.

**Job Summary:**

The Immigration Attorney will provide critical legal representation to immigrant clients in various proceedings, including asylum cases, family-based petitions, naturalization, and other forms of immigration relief. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to work independently under deadline pressure, and a commitment to serving individuals from diverse backgrounds.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Represent clients in immigration court and family court for SIJ cases
  • Prepare cases for submission to USCIS, including applications for asylum, SIJ status, VAWA/T/U nonimmigrant status, and family-based petitions
  • Draft personal statements, prepare immigration forms, write briefs, and draft court motions and orders
  • Advocate with law enforcement and other agencies on behalf of clients
  • Supervise legal assistants and volunteers as needed
  • Participate in program-wide and grant-specific data collection
  • Collaborate with community-based organizations and provide public education in the community

**Requirements:**

  • Juris Doctor degree with active membership in a State Bar required; Louisiana license preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (writing and speaking) required
  • Two years or more experience practicing immigration law, or other relevant experience preferred
  • Experience working with children and/or survivors of abuse and trauma preferred
  • Ability to manage a substantial workload with deadline pressures
  • Competence in communicating and interacting with others of diverse cultural, geographic, and economic backgrounds
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills and online database software proficiency required

**Benefits and Compensation:

This is a full-time exempt position, contingent upon grant funding. The estimated salary range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience. We also offer competitive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
