At Clovis Community College, we are seeking an exceptional Academic Lecturer in Fine Arts to join our faculty team. This is a part-time, fixed-term position that offers the opportunity to teach and contribute to the growth of our students.
About the Job
- Under the supervision of college administration, the lecturer will work collaboratively with other faculty members to ensure that key concepts in Fine Arts are effectively addressed in the curriculum.
- The instructor will provide students with a comprehensive syllabus outlining course outcomes and competencies.
- Teaching assignments may vary depending on the candidate's qualifications and expertise.
Responsibilities and Requirements
- Develop and deliver well-prepared, organized, and clear lectures and classroom activities consistent with the course syllabus.
- Promote development and effective use of skills in areas such as critical thinking, evaluation, communication, problem-solving, assessment, and decision-making.
- Provide timely feedback on academic progress relative to quizzes, tests, homework, and projects.
- Maintain accurate records of student academic performance.
- Possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of all college policies, including technology tools such as Canvas, Starfish, e-mail, MS Office, and the Internet.
Work Environment
This role requires continuous movement within the college, sitting, and handling small objects, as well as occasional pushing and pulling of up to 10 pounds.
Qualifications and Compensation
- A Master of Fine Arts degree or a master's degree in another field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Fine Arts or a related sub-field.
- The estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000-$80,000 based on industry standards and market rates for similar positions in the area.
