Job Overview

The Greater Somerset County YMCA is seeking a Climbing Wall Belayer to join our team at our Basking Ridge, NJ location. As a Belayer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our participants while they climb our Rock Wall. This is a great opportunity to share your passion for adventure sports and make a positive impact on our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and breakdown of equipment before and after the Rock Wall opens.
  • Interact with participants in a fair and professional manner, ensuring a positive member experience.
  • Teach the fundamentals of climbing to youth participants and build their confidence and self-esteem.
Requirements
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • At least 1 year experience belaying.
  • Dependable, great with kids, and a passion for sports.
  • Ability to demonstrate YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
