Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Services Nurse II to join our team at Duke Health Integrated Practice. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional clinical and interpersonal skills to deliver high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with Heart Center Communications and Staff Assistants to ensure clinics are fully staffed with appropriate patients.
  • Obtain new patient records and images, organize, and tab them for MD review.
  • Ensure return patients have necessary tests/labs and schedule and reschedule makeup clinics.
  • Conduct pre-visit with patients, report out to providers, and collaborate with clinic staff to recheck vital signs as needed.
  • Perform interrogation of cardiac implanted devices, upload reports into servers, and educate patients regarding labs, procedures, medications, and diseases.
  • Assist with scheduling CT and CMRI procedures, coordinate hospital admissions, and queue all refills in clinic-AEMR for review with Providers.
  • During Remote Monitoring, download interrogations from device websites, review for scheduled and unscheduled transmissions on urgent/concerning issues per protocol, and upload preliminary reports into servers (Scottcare).
  • Assign reports to providers, follow up to ensure labs/procedures are completed, discuss abnormal results with providers, and call patients with explanations of abnormal results.
  • Coordinate labs/studies with outside facilities, obtain appointments with specialists, and coordinate with patients.
  • Manage incoming patient calls, coordinate plans with providers, and return patient calls. Manage prescription refills as directed by providers, complete prior authorizations, patient/insurance requested forms, and coordinate referrals.
  • Provide staff education on policy/procedures, monitor equipment maintenance, and manage supplies.
  • Maintain current knowledge of PDC policy and procedure, Infection Control and Environment of Care standards, and requirements set forth by other regulatory agencies.
  • Participate in initiatives that contribute to improved metrics, service excellence, and/or enhanced work culture.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited BSN program.
  • Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience.
  • Current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina.
  • BLS required.
Work Schedule

The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
