The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer performs high-quality ultrasound procedures and techniques to produce diagnostic images for licensed practitioners to interpret. The Imaging Specialist demonstrates exceptional patient care in a compassionate and timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:- Confirms the accuracy and confidentiality of all pertinent patient, lab, and procedural data.
- Knowledge in workflows, procedures, and processes of the imaging modalities.
- Responsible for patient documentation, procedure preparation, and instructions.
- Documents sonographer's impressions and relays findings to physicians.
- Participates in performance improvement projects and the education of new staff.
- Associates degree in Ultrasound Technology from an accredited program.
- Credentialed in Ultrasound technology by one of the following: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), or Sonographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Preferred qualifications: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in Abdomen, Breast, Obstetrics/Gynecology, 1 year experience as an Ultrasound Tech, EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR), and Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS).
