Position Overview:

The Inventory Associate plays a crucial role in managing merchandise, which includes receiving, unpacking, and organizing items, labeling them for identification, restocking shelves, and assisting customers with their orders.

These associates operate in various environments such as retail stores, warehouses, stockrooms, and other storage facilities. While the responsibilities outlined below are typical, JobsRUs may assign additional tasks based on business needs and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for dispatch.
  • Receive, lift, move, store, issue, count, sort, weigh, and verify items based on requisitions or invoices.
  • Handle a diverse range of incoming freight, including office supplies, chemicals, electronic devices, and other materials, prioritizing tasks accordingly.
  • Cross-check incoming and outgoing shipments against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other documentation to ensure accuracy.
  • Determine the most efficient shipping methods, utilizing knowledge of shipping protocols, routes, and costs.
  • Unpack and inspect incoming shipments, rejecting damaged items, documenting shortages, and communicating with suppliers to resolve issues.
  • Process orders, issue supplies from inventory, and rotate stock to maintain freshness.
  • Address delivery discrepancies using a computerized accounts payable/purchasing system.
  • Assemble and deliver equipment as necessary.
  • Utilize the internal inventory management system effectively.
  • Prepare assets for distribution, including logistics and storage considerations.
  • Return damaged or non-compliant items to vendors.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of storage areas through regular maintenance.
  • Safeguard all stock in storage areas.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols established by JobsRUs and relevant authorities.
  • May transport materials or supplies to other departments using manual or powered equipment.
  • Comply with all JobsRUs HACCP policies and procedures.
  • Participate in training sessions related to food safety and allergens.
  • Engage in designated training programs (both in-person and virtual).
  • May undertake additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Experience/Knowledge:
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • No prior work experience required.

Skills/Aptitude:
