Job Summary:

We are seeking a Part-Time Food Service Worker to join our team at Colonial School District. As a Food Service Worker, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals to students and staff, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

* Prepare a variety of hot and cold breakfast and lunch items using various methods and equipment
* Serve meals to students and staff, demonstrating a high level of customer service
* Assist with completing records and logs as mandated by state and federal guidelines
* Use proper sanitation and safety procedures
* Maintain knowledge of National School Breakfast and Lunch Program regulations
* Utilize computerized point of sale system for student transactions
* Assist with receipt of food deliveries
* May prepare or assist in preparing and setting up refreshments for special functions

Requirements:

* The ability to deal with students, faculty, parents, and staff in a courteous and professional manner
* The ability to operate and learn to operate all kitchen equipment
* The ability to perform duties such as general food prep, cleaning and sanitizing, etc.
* The ability to work rapidly and efficiently in performing job duties
* The ability to work well and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment
* The ability to efficiently handle and record cash transactions
* Excellent customer service skills are a must

Working Conditions:

* Work is performed in a kitchen environment with frequent exposure to heat, steam, and cleaning chemicals
* May be required to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
