The Survey Team Leader will take charge of directing survey teams in the field, managing surveying assignments, and guaranteeing the precision and quality of data collection. The ideal candidate will possess robust leadership abilities, a comprehensive understanding of surveying methodologies and tools, and a commitment to achieving outstanding outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee and coordinate survey teams in the field, offering guidance, direction, and support to ensure the effective execution of surveying assignments.
  2. Strategically plan and organize surveying operations, including selecting surveying techniques, procedures, and equipment based on project requirements.
  3. Execute field surveys utilizing total stations, GPS technology, and other surveying devices to gather precise data for boundary delineations, topographic assessments, construction staking, and various surveying tasks.
  4. Conduct calculations and analyses of survey data to produce accurate survey plats, maps, and documentation.
  5. Maintain and calibrate surveying instruments, ensuring optimal functionality and precision at all times.
  6. Engage in effective communication with project managers, clients, and team members to synchronize surveying activities, address project needs, and resolve any challenges that may arise.
  7. Comply with safety protocols and regulations to ensure a secure working environment for survey team members and other personnel on site.
  8. Document detailed records of surveying activities, including field notes, data sheets, and project documentation.
  9. Guide and mentor junior survey team members, providing support to help them enhance their skills and knowledge in surveying practices and procedures.
  10. Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in surveying technology, and modifications in surveying regulations and standards.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Survey Team Leader or in a comparable surveying position is required.
  • Proficiency in operating total stations, GPS technology, and other surveying instruments.
  • Strong leadership and communication capabilities, with the ability to effectively manage survey teams and collaborate with project groups.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with surveying software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Trimble Business Center, is preferred.
  • A Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license or the ability to obtain licensure in the future is preferred.
